Instrom Appointed by Argos
Instrom, independent security consultants from Buckinghamshire, were appointed by Argos in
July 2004 to provide a wide range of security services for their new 700,000 sq ft state of the
art distribution centre in Darlington.
Work began on this time critical project in July 2004 and was completed in August 2005.
Instrom were asked to advise on the design and layout of the building as well as provide an
in-depth risk assessment of the site prior to the building work commencing. Instrom
appointed a security contractor after managing the tender process on behalf of Argos.
Instrom were appointed to this project because of their previous retail/warehouse security
experience and their in-depth knowledge of security systems and equipment.
Working closely with the Argos team Instrom produced progress reports throughout the
project and submitted a completion report once the warehouse was up and running.
Ken Graham, Principal Consultant, stated: “This was a large contract and very exciting to
work on as it was a green field site so it felt like anything was possible. The Instrom team
were fully integrated with the Argos team working to tight deadlines and high standards.
Instrom was very pleased to have won this prestigious contract and deliver it on time and
within budget.”
