Argos Stores Development Case Study
Client/industry sector
Instrom’s client is a well-known high street retailer that has outlets in every major town and
city throughout the UK and Ireland.
Background
In January 2005 due to continued expansion and high street demand this retailer approached
Instrom to assist them in designing the security systems and installing security equipment in
32 new stores across the UK and Ireland.
Detail
Instrom were appointed to project manage the process from the design stage onwards.
Instrom audited each new location on an on-going basis and on completion of the design and
build. During this period Instrom worked very much as part of the clients team, attending
internal and external meetings, liaising with internal departments and contractors to ensure
that each store was completed to the highest security standard.
Once each store was complete Instrom audited the work of the security suppliers and
contractors and provided a detailed report on their performance. In line with the client’s
continuous improvement ethos, Instrom made recommendations for improvements to the
security process of providing security systems and equipment and using quality contractors.
Conclusion
This project commenced in January 2005 and completed in November 2005 with 32 new
stores open to the public, with new and updated security systems and equipment
recommended by Instrom and agreed with their client.
